Do I need Code Composor Studio for project developmanet?

Dear all:

I'm quite new for Ti's DSP. I use SEED-DEC137 platform, which is based on OMAP-L137. After setup Vmware, Ubuntu and tool-chain, I can successfully compile and run all DSPlink examples. The question is: I don't need debug feature, should I still need to install Code Composer Studio ( on window) to create my DSP projects? Or just write DSP program within Ubuntu, compile and download to the board to test result? If the answer is yes, what source code should I get and re-compile in Ubuntu to make the basic functions (DSP/BIOS,DSPlink, all peripheral drivers) work together?

You don't NEED to have CCS, but it is often nice to have for working on the DSP.

What version of DSP/BIOS are you using?

My package within Linux toolchain is as following:

1. DSP/BIOS: 5.33.03

2. xdctools 3.10.03

3. C60.6.1.5

4. DSPlink 1.61.01

I just need math-related function libraries to let project go (industrial application), no multimedia packaged needed. Do you think I need to copy other libraries into Linux to make the package complete?

The Setup Guide shipped with DSP/BIOS 5.33.03 might be a good place to start. There are examples included with the product and there is a section on makefiles that will help in building from the command line in Linux. Open the Setup Guilde and look for "Makefiles for DSP/BIOS Applications". You can look at how these makefiles work and hopefully that will get you pointed in the right direction.
