DM6467 compilation of DSP algorithm running countinously on putty

Hello

I m new to DaVinci DM6467.

I m compiling DSP algorithm on Putty. but sometimes it continuously running on putty. It can't finish compilation. I must have use to puase break key of hold this.

Can anyone explain how its happen and what is the root cause?

What is the difference of gmake and make. when to used each?
