I need a minimum 10-bit 5MSPS ADC (preferably with an evaluation board option) that can interface with my TMDSLCDK6748 demonstration board. Most of the ADC evaluation boards I have seen are designed to be operated with the 5-6K interface but this seems to be suitable only for older C6000 series processor boards. Can anyone recommend a suitable ADC that can operate at these specs, and can easily interface with the DSP board?
Also, what is the best transfer protocol to use for getting the data from the ADC into the DSP. Can this be done whilst the processor is doing calculations? I will be performing IQ demodulation of the incoming data which will involve multiplying each data sample by a reference sin and cos numerical controlled oscillator (NCO), then each of these will be low pass filtered (FIR) and an arctan(I/Q) function performed.
