AM5716: McSPI Slave mode

Hi,

I would like to understand if it is possible to configure the SPI controller of AM5716 as Slave and use it as a Flash Memory. In that case, the SPI master sees the slave device only as a SPI flash memory and performs read accesses only by issuing a read command followed by (say 24-bit) memory address as done in SPI Flash.

If it is possible, could you please also tell us whether there is a software support to implement this feature in the PSDK?

Hi,

Which SDK are you asking about? Linux or RTOS?
There is no support for SPI Slave mode in the Linux SDK.

Has the AM571x SPI Slave been tested as memory device like a serial flash?

What you require can be implemented in software, but this is not an use case supported in the Processor SDK.
