Hello TI Expert,

I have got a question from the customer who is evaluating AM5718IDK PCIe with Windows PC.

Would you please check the question?

This is a related with the question below;

They tried to connect the AM5718IDK (PCIe EP) with Windows PC (PCIe RC).

However, it looks that AM5718IDK cannot be recognized as an EP from the Windows PC.

They powered on AM5718IDK first, then they powered on the Windows PC. But it is not recognized from PC.

[Question]

If the AM5718 is configured as EP, is any start-up sequence between RC and EP prepared in the AM57x PCIe driver?

We would like to know whether there is a signal like a USB enumeration or not.

We just would like to isolate which side has a problem , Windows or AM57x Linux driver.

How was the PCIe EP mode on AM5718-IDK brought up? Were the configuration steps shown in EP User's Guide followed?

Yes. We introduced this wiki page and I think they should follow these steps. But it seems AM5718IDK cannot be recognized by Windows PC.
So, they just would like to know whether or not Linux driver of EP side sends any signal like USB enumeration when the AM5718 is connected to the Windows PC first. They also want to know how it looks on the Windows device manager if Windows can recognize AM5718 IDK as a PCIe EP correctly.

It would be helpful if you have any comment to these questions.

Hi, Nobu,

Please read the e2e thread in e2e.ti.com/.../232907. I found it explained well. It seems to me that a Windows RC driver for AM57x is needed, but TI does not provide it.
