AM4379: DEBUGSS_DRM_SUSPEND_CTRL0 address

Hi all,

I want to set register of DEBUGSS_DRM_SUSPEND_CTRL0 and check the address from trm.

It should be 0x4B16_0000, but actually I write it failed. I can not modify this address.

And I checked the CCS xml file, "Modules/am437x/DEBUGSS_DRM.xml", there have 0x200 offset of the register, the address should be 0x4B16_0200.

But I can't find any information about the 0x200 offset from trm.

Could you please help to confirm this? thanks!

Hi,

Please read carefully the description of the register bitfields in section 31.5.1 of the AM437x TRM Rev. G. There are certain conditions, which must be fulfilled in order to write to this register.

Can you try it at your side?

I just follow "31.1.1.1 Debug Suspend Support for Peripherals" set address 0x4B16_0000 to 0 or 0x9, all failed.

But just use ccs register window to set DEBUGSS_DRM_SUSPEND_CTRL0, it can work. And address 0x4B16_0200 has been modified at the same time.

There should be a issue ether in ccs or in TRM.

Denny,

you are correct, table 31.5 DRM Registers of RevG in the TRM should start with offset 0x200. For some reason, this was the case in earlier versions of the TRM, but it was inadvertently changed in RevF and G. We will get this fixed in the next version of the TRM.
