Power Layout failure !!!

We use the 5509A DSP,  BGA layout.

We did a mistake in the layout of a board, and left the pin L1 and N7 unconnected. These are some of the 1.6v  RVDD pins.

Can any one tell me if the board at all can work like this, at least in the lab for testing ?????

Best regards

  • Terje,

On C5509A, the RVdd are the supplies to the on-chip memory. Without power to the on-chip memory, the data and program stored there will not be reliable, nor reliably accessed. Since you have only one of the three memory supplies powered, we cannot guarantee this device will operate reliably. The on-chip memory might be power-starved. You might be able to operate it in a lab environment by minimizing the amount of power needed: for example, limiting the operating frequency, limiting the simultaneous access to on-chip memory (DMA and CPU), etc.
