AM4376: 128MB QSPI flash memory access

Hi,

Our customers are using QSPI NOR flash memory with 128MB.
QSPI flash is accessed via memory mapped port. In this case, 64MB from 0x30000000 to 0x33FFFFFF can be accessed,
but 64MB above it can not be accessed.
Please tell me how to do to access.

Which of the following is possible?
① Can it be set so that the memory area of 0x04000000 to 0x07FFFFFF of the QSPI flash memory is mapped to the memory area of 0x30000000 to 0x33FFFFFF of AM4378?
② Is it be accessed via the configuration port?

Hi Shigehiro,

Sorry for the delay. The memory mapped port cannot be configured to point to another memory area in the QSPI flash memory.

Is it correct with the understanding that QSPI Flash access of 64 MB or more must use the configuration port of QSPI?

Hi Shigehiro,

Yes, the configuration port can be used with a lower read data throughput to access the upper 64 MB address range.

I understand that the upper 64 MB address range need to be accessed using the configuration port.

Is there information on whether access using configuration port is supported by u-boot or linux qspi driver of ti-processor-sdk-linux?

What version of u-boot is this? In older u-boot, just set slave->memory_map to NULL. In newer u-boot, delete the device-tree entry for the memory mapped region.
