TMS320VC5402: DSP Power up and Reset conditions

Part Number: TMS320VC5402

Hello everyone,

My issue is related to the reset conditions of the DSP C54x.

So, I did my reset design bu using a simple RC circuit. refer to picture below.

1/ Sometimes, I'm getting an issue with DSP hangs (not running FW) after power up. I have to precise that my FW is loaded into DSP memory from an external MCU host, via HPI bootloader.

So, I verified that the bootloader is running Okay, and I confirmed that there is no issue with that. Now, I'm addressing the issue of reset.

First, Do you agree with the reset design based on RC ?

2/ I thought also about the JTAG TRST signal because I'm not putting an external pull-down resistor as recommended by TI (for noisy environments). see figure below.

But O-scope measurements showed that the TRST signal still in low level. so no worries with that, I think.

3/ hereafter a screenshot of O-scope measurement of DSP 3V3 and DSP reset signal at power up. please comment.

4/ Do you have any idea what could cause the DSP reset/power up issue.

Thank you.
