Hi,
I'm trying to bring up a custom board based on AM5728. I manage to get to the kernel boot up as shown in my attached log. I even get past the Welcome to Arago message, but there seems to be a somewhat consistent hang. It almost always starts "Starting udev Coldplug all Devices..." , and then throws a "Unable to handle kernel paging request at virtual address", followed by either a "systemd Tainted", "udevadm Tainted" , "systemd-udevd Tainted" or something similar. I'm having this trouble mainly when I'm trying to boot up the full rootfs ("tisdk-rootfs-image-am57xx-evm") whereas when I use the base rootfs ("arago-base-tisdk-image-am57xx-evm") I am able to get to the command line.
The basic steps I've followed are the following. Please let me know if this is the correct approach.
1) Built and installed u-boot with a custom defconfig onto u-boot partition on SD card
2) From the ti-processor-sdk folder I extracted the "tisdk-rootfs-image-am57xx-evm" into the targetNFS
3) Copied in a custom defconfig into the kernel source tree (arch/arm/configs)
4) Copied in a custom DTS file into kernel source tree (arch/arm/boot/dts)
5) Modified the top level Rules.make in ti-processor-sdk folder to use custom defconfig
6) Modified the top level Makefile to make the custom DTS file
7) Ran:
sudo make clean
sudo make all
sudo make install
8) Copied over the targetNFS into the rootfs partition on my SD card
9) Took the custom DTB (corresp. to custom DTS) and renamed it as am57xx-evm-reva3.dtb and dropped into rootfs/boot
