CCS/TMS320C6713B: EXTERNAL FLASH PROGRAMMING

Good morning,

I'm using the TMS320C6713GDPA200 DSP on a card and this DSP is connected to its program FLASH on CS1
I would like to program thIs FLASH, mounted on the board and without a socket.

I have available:
Spectrum Digital XDS510PP PLUS emulator
CCS 3.1.0
Windows XP
FLASH: 4Mx16 TSOP48 MBM29DL640E-90

I have access to pins: EMU0, EMU1, TMS, TRST, TDO, TDI, TCK.
Can I program the FLASH with the emulator without using an ATE or a JTAG program?

Hi Sergio,

I am not sure I completely understand your query. Let me confirm that my understanding is correct:
You have a custom board, which uses the TMS320C6713 SoC. On this board you have mounted MBM29DL640E-90 Nand Flash connected to SoC, right?

In this case, yes you can use the Jtag to connect to the board and program the flash.

What do you mean without using a JTAG program? You need to write a program that performs reads/writes to the flash, which you can load to the TMS320C6713 and execute it.

Hi Yordan,

the FLASH is connected on DSP's Address and Data Bus. It is the boot/program DSP's FLASH . I'd like to program it by means Emulator and CCS. Can I can do it writing a program to load into DSP at first use? May you suggest me the program? I am not able to write it, i load program of other people only.

The only flash burn utility that we support for this device is described here:
processors.wiki.ti.com/.../Flashing_the_C6713_EVM

this is supported using the baseline software that you are using . Hope this helps.
