Linux/TMDSLCDK138: Booting Linux from SD card

Hi!

I started to work with OMAP-L138 LCDK recently.
And i found only an version of MCSK on the SD card from the box, just like you.
I've wasted about a week exploring MCSDK before i realised that newest SDK 04_00.... exists

So i'm trying to boot the board whith Linux from SD card now.

Yes, i've found and read discussion of the same problem on the forum here
But i didn't success.

First, I create an SD card using Win32DiskImager and omapl138-lcdk-linux-04.00.00.04.img

Second, I change SW1 to (1 - off, 2 -off, 3-off, 4 -on).
Then i insert SD card to slot and power up the board.
But nothing happens. There is not any output in console or vga.

So can you check what i'm doing wrong?

Hi Sergey,

You need to sign your u-boot with the AISTool and install it on your SD card.

However, MCSDK is quite old.

Please download the latest TI Processors SDK: www.ti.com/.../processor-sdk-omapl138

Once you install the sdk you can run:
x0155517@mms:~$ cd ti-processor-sdk-linux-omapl138-lcdk-04.00.00.04/
x0155517@mms:~/ti-processor-sdk-linux-omapl138-lcdk-04.00.00.04$ sudo ./bin/create-sdcard.sh

This is an interactive script that will create bootable sd card fro OMAP-L138 LCDK.

Hi Yordan!

I created SD card using Linux host and ti-processor-sdk-linux-omapl138-lcdk-04.00.00.04. It's works.

It was important to use native PC for Linux host. Creating sd card form VirtualBox was not success.
