Linux/AM3358: PMIC_POWER_EN pin control

Hi TI experts.

Please let me confirm the following question.

Would you please teach me the way to control the PWR_ENABLE_EN on Linux?

On debian, the AM335x generated the PWR_ENABLE_EN signale to power off the PMIC but TI processor SDK did not power off the PMIC.

Hi,

Please read section 20.3.3.8 in the AM335x TRM Rev. P. PMIC_POWER_EN can be turned off only by RTC ALARM2 event.
What board is this, and which version of the Processor SDK, that you claim does not turn off the PMIC?

Thank you for your response.
I confirmed this operation by using TMDSSK3358 with PSDK v4. I have already known that TMDSSK3358 did not use the PMIC_POWER_EN pin. So, this is why the PMIC did not power off.
Or if the PSDK is also power off the PMIC(i.e. PMIC_POWER_EN is LOW) on shutdown sequence, would you please teach me the point to control the PMIC_POWER_EN pin on linux source?

The Processor SDK definitely controls the PMIC_POWER_EN pin. The software team will post in which file to look.

Hi Kaka,

PMIC_POWER_EN signal output is enabled/disabled by AM335x RTC_PMIC[16] PWR_ENABLE_EN bit. When enabled, PMIC_POWER_EN signal will be controlled by EXT_WAKEUP, ALARM, and ALARM2 events. For power off, ON -> OFF (Turn OFF) only by ALARM2 event.
