Hi All,

We are using tda2ex with vision sdk 2.12 sdk. kernel version 4.4.23

We are connect external USB Transceiver (USB83340) to usb3 ULPI interface.

For ULPI interface (USB3) what are all thing need to configure in Device tree file?

Any dedicated driver need for external PHY to work?

Right now RESETB is high and refclk is 27MHZ is fine as per power up sequence.

Hi Raj M

To my knowledge, ulpi was pinned out for backup/test purposes and no EVM was released with ulpi Phy.
You should make the proper pinmux settings for USB3 ULPI and also set USB_GUSB2PHYCFG[4] ULPI_UTMI_SEL bit to 0x1.
I really don't know if it works though , nor if other settings are needed.

Now I can able to read vendor and product id of external PHY.

How to bind generic phy(NOP) driver to usb3?

In dtb file define ulpi_phy node with compatible flag set to "usb-nop-xceiv"..

for example as shown below.

&usb3 {
dr_mode = "host";
phys = <&ulpi_phy>;
phy-names = "ulpi-phy";
};

ulpi_phy: ulpi_phy {
compatible = "usb-nop-xceiv";
...
};
