Hi Team,

What is the maximum size of QSPI flash memory supported in TDA3x? and what are the different QSPI part number is supported to TDA3x? . where can i get this information?

I am using S70FL01GSAGMFB01 QSPI Flash memory and which having 2 chip select. As our SBL is running from QSPI memory and we have connected two CS to TDA3x.

So does it will affect to RBL or SBL.

As we are using two chipselect. Does it will create ambiguity ?. If it will not create any problem then can you please guide where we have make changed for second chipselect in code?

Please make sure that part number is supported in TDA3x.

Hi Chirag,

You need to refer to initialization chapter to see what all QSPI devices are supported by TDA3xx device.

Hi Rishabh,

I have gone through Initialization chapter and come to know some basic boot flow. I think ROM boot loader is checking CS0 and will boot from QSPI. So may be it will not create problem in RBL/SBL. But after board booted then where I have make changed for second chip selection pin in code?

what are the different QSPI part number is supported to TDA3x?

Hi Chirag,

Information is given in chapter 25.8.4 SPI/QSPI Flash Devices of the TDA3xx TRM.
For current Vision SDK you need to change the QSPI flash library present in PDK to change the chip selection pin in code.

I have gone through this 25.8.4 SPI/QSPI Flash Devices for TDA3xx TRM. for RBL code our QSPI will be fine.

Can you give information where this QSPI flash library present and what is procedure to change chip selection pin in code.

Hi Chirag,

You need to see the files present at: ti_components\drivers\pdk\packages\ti\boot\sbl_auto\qspiflash\ and ti_components\drivers\pdk\packages\ti\csl\csl_qspi.h.

Hi Chirag,

RBL uses QSPI on CS0, hence the same is used by mflash.
Please refer to "SPI/QSPI Flash Devices" in "Initialization" chapter in the TRM.

Hi Rushabh,

Yes, I got your point. Previously you told to refer this "Initialization" chapter in the TRM. I have gone through it, i came to know that RBL is checking CS0 only. So there is no problem in RBL. After that you suggest some QSPI related file. I have gone through it. i have doubt in that.

In this file vision_sdk/links_fw/src/rtos/utils_common/src/utils_qspi.c, it is initializing QSPI pad and some parameter, but In my custom board QSPI have two CS. So I have to map memory properly here. So can you suggest in this file what i have to make change for two CS.

Chirag,

The QSPI memory will be available at same address. You can set the CSNUM field in QSPI_SPI_CMD_REG register to 1 if you want to select the second QSPI chip. There is an API QSPISetCfgModeTxCmd available in QSPI CSL FL. You need to call it in your application.
You also need to make sure that you modify the flash information structure in QSPI Flash Library accordingly for CS1.
