DM6437 OSD0 field/frame mode

Hello:

Can the field /  frame mode for the OSD windows be different than the Video0?  Or do they need to match?

For instance, can the Video0 data be interlaced while the data format of the buffer for OSD0 is progressive?   Progressive is easier to draw on.

Thanks,

B

  • Field/frame mode is a configuraton of OSD; This configures how the OSD should be reading the data from a buffer.

Assuming a complete frame(not field wise) is given to the OSD for display, for a progressive output (such as 480p), OSD is configured as field mode(yes field mode) and for displays such as NTSC/PAL, it is configured in the frame mode.

In other words, the configuration does not depend on the video getting fed to the OSD!. Also, for your question

    >>Can the field /  frame mode for the OSD windows be different than the Video0?  Or do they need to match?
    Yes, they need to match.
