i m doing project on omap 3530 beagleboard, i have to write the spi driver for that board on linux platform to

drive cc2520 zigbee tranceiver. i know linux device driver programming but i m not getting how can i develp

a driver for a specific board. how can i test it?? can i use the spi.c which is there in kernel source tree?? if

so how ?? which documentation should i go through?? googling is not working..pls guide me

You are going to be writing a SPI protocol driver.

Kernel documentation is here Documentation/spi/spi-summary.

I wrote a few more OMAP3 specific notes here Gumstix Overo SPI and have some links to a few simple example drivers in Github. I was testing with the Gumstix OMAP3 Overos, but they ought to work fine for the Beagle. Don't worry about the kernel patches if you are using a recent kernel. They are all part of mainline now.

hi scott,

your adc.c is a beautiful explanatory code. i have gone through that.

but i dont have any idea about how the linux spi subsystem works..?

how actually my driver get added to tht subsystem?? do u have any

literature or notes or any link ? from kernel documentation i am hardly getting so...pls help
