AM3358: Power consumption measurement

I'd like to learn some of the methods or utilities available for measuring real-time current consumption on the BeagleBone Black. I wanted to look into EnergyTrace on an external MSP432 LaunchPad but the team did not think it would be compatible with the spec. See below thread.

Hi Mark,

Regarding AM335x power management, you can check the below wiki pages. The collection of real power measurements was measured on an AM335x GP EVM with a high-precision digital multimeter.

Regarding MSP, we have MSP430 microcontroller integrated in the DM814x/AM387x TI EVM. This AM387x device is similar to AM335x device, you can check if you can apply the same for AM335x.

Ultra low power microcontroller MSP430 to monitor the current flow DM814x/AM387x devices with UART interfaces. All the power supplies on both the base EVM and Application Boards are provided with power measurement capability using ultra low power microcontroller MSP430. MSP 430 based controller in combination with Current/Power Monitor with I2C Interface INA226 will be used for power monitoring. In DM814x/AM387x Base EVM twelve INA current monitors are available for monitoring the currents of power supplies.
