DM388: SATA Controller in DM388

Hello,

We want to use DM388 in our design. We refer datasheet of DM388(SPRS821D – MARCH 2013–REVISED DECEMBER 2013). But in datasheet there is no  description available of SATA controller.

We have also checked  technical reference manual(TRM) of DM38X (Literature Number:  SPRUHG1B October 2012–Revised June 2016). In TRM of DM38X there is "chapter-20 :Serial ATA (SATA) Controller".

In TRM "Section :20.2.2" of "Chapter : 20" give SATA interface signals but description of these signals is not given in DM388 Datasheet.

Please confirm that SATA controller is integrated in DM388 or not. If integrated then also give pin(ball) number for SATA interface signal & let me know which version of document we have to refer for SATA Controller in DM388.

    Hi Bhautik,

    DM38x TRM (SPRUHG1B) is common for DM383, DM385 and DM388 devices. But only DM383 device support SATA. You should always treat datasheet with higher priority than TRM. Datasheet is specific for the device, while TRM is more generic.

    For DM388 device, you can use PCIe instead of SATA.
