TMS320DM8127: NANDFLASH BOOT WITH DM8127

Part Number: TMS320DM8127

Hi Dears,

One of my customer asked one question about NAND FLASH BOOT.

Currently they used ESMT NAND-FLASH-F59L1G81MA, and its ID is 0xC8 0xD1 0x80 0x95 0x40. As DM8127's boot sequence is NAND->NANDI2C->SPI->UART, it still prints CCCCC after programing. Could you please help to check whether DM8127support this NAND FLASH?

Thanks!

  • Hi,
The query has been forwarded to respective team member.

  • Hi Sam,

From what I was able to find, this ESMT NAND Flash F59L1G81MA is NOT supported by the DM8127 ROM Code.

See DM8127 TRM, section 4.7.3.2 Initialization and Detection

The first step is ONFI detection. Your Flash chip is not ONFI compliant,  this step fails. The next steps is to check the ROM lookup table, but that step fails also, as Flash F59L1G81MA Device ID (I think it is 0xD1) is not listed in the table.

So the only option here is NANDI2C mode.

    Regards,
    Pavel
