AM3352: DDR3 replacement

Hi Guys,

we need to replace "DDR3 MT41K256M16HA-125:E" with "MT41K256M16TW-107:P" on AM3352 board.

According to AM335x TRM, the DDR3/3L maximum data rate is 800MHz..

Could we just apply the original configuration to new DDR3 chip?

If not, could you give some suggestions?

For example. CAS Latency of "MT41K256M16TW-107:P" is 13. And AM335x Max CAS Latency support is 11.

We have no idea how to configure for new DDR3 chip correctly.

Hi,

As a minimum requirement you will need to recalculate the EMIF timings. See processors.wiki.ti.com/.../AM335x_EMIF_Configuration_tips for details. As for your memory, CL=13 is valid for 1.07ns DDR clock period, while the minimum AM335x clock period is 2.5ns.
