Сonnect OMAP-L138 Experimenter Kit with another devises

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: OMAP-L138

Hello

I want to use OMAP-L138 eXperimenter Kit with another devises. What are the connectors on the this board should be used, to connect to them? For example, connect to the ADC, through SPI. According to the document 1013125rev1_OMAP-L138_Baseboard_Schematic.pdf connectors interface SPI place on small contacts DF40C (labeling on the baseboard J13, J28, J29, etc.). So, to work with these interfaces i must interact through these small slot?

  • Yes, the interfaces are intended to connect to custom PCBs.  For example, Logic PD also makes a User Interface (UI) board that connects the interfaces to video, ADC, DAC, LCD, NOR, and NAND components.

  • Thanks for the reply, tlee!

That means, if I want to use the ADC with OMAP-L138 eXperimenter Kit, a non-installed on the UI Board (via the SPI), I have to work with these little junction? This is so embarrassing. Maybe there are other ways to connect?

  • We have received feedback for the need of breakout and analog expansion modules for the EVM so various options are being investigated.  Unfortunately, TI does not have an offering for these capabilities at the moment.  It is possible that third parties have developed expansion modules, but I am not aware of any specifics.

  • tlee, oh_no,

There is an adapter from this website ( http://www.createnewstuff.com/ ) that breaks out the tiny connector to 0.100" standard headers.

    Hope this helps.
