TMS320C5535: using IAR with C5000

Guru 20755 points
Part Number: TMS320C5535

Hello,

In C5000 datasheet:

I see "Through the MSP430 LaunchPad (not included), designers can interface with integrated software environments such as Code Composer Studio version 4 or IAR Embedded Workbench. These free IDEs include an assembler, linker, simulator, source-level debugger and C-compiler to help developers integrate new and customized audio and voice applications."

I am not sure that IAR is free. Is it ?

Thank you.

Ran

  • Hi,

Yes it is free. You can download it from here:
    www.ti.com/.../iar-kickstart

However, from the tms320c5535 product page, I don't see IAR as a supported IDE. You may need to configure it yourself.

    Best Regards,
    Yordan

  • Hi,

It doesn't seem free, (only download is free) . The link is to IAR web page which states:

    "
    MSP430
    Download a free trial!
    Download Software
    (Version 7.11,
    473.87 MB)
The evaluation license is completely free of charge and allows you to try the integrated development environment and evaluate its efficiency and ease of use. When you start the product for the first time, you will be asked to register to get your evaluation license.
After installation, you have the following evaluation options to choose from:
    a 30-day time-limited but fully functional license
a size-limited Kickstart license without any time limit
Restrictions to the 30-day time-limited evaluation"

  • Hi,

Yes, you're right. In this case you should contact the IAR community for further instructions, as this is not supported by TI.

    Best Regards,
