OMAP1710 MMC/SD controller seems to be SD v1.0 spec compliant. It would be difficult to address the query on micro SD support on OMAP1710 specifically, as that device is not supported by most of the team supporting this forum. It might be best to get in touch with your local TI field office for OMAP1710 specific queries.

OMAPL138 MMC/SD controller is SD v1.1 compliant. MicroSD cards upto 2GB are supported as per the host controller spec. Higher density SDHC cards upto 32 GB have been tested and reported to work with OMAPL138. Greater then 2GB functionality typically implies SD v 2.0 specification. However since the MMC/SD host controller IP on OMAPL138 is v1.1 compliant , from a datasheet/userguide perspective we document SD v1.1 compliance only.

Yes, all modules/peripherals including MMC/SD are accessible by both c674x CPU as well as the ARM9 CPU on OMAPL1x processors.

This is good news.
Can you please point me at documentation / drivers that indicates this? I can't find it documented anywhere but maybe I'm looking in the wrong places!
