Hi,

I am beginner in LINUX platform. I want to port linux for TMDSLCDK138. I downloded some file from this website

I don't know how to install linaro tool chain and how to build the linux soure code.

1.is there any available procedure?

2.what all are the files required for source code build.

3.could you please suggest step by step procedure for that or suggest any site with that procedure.

Hi Allwyn,

You can download OMAP-L138 Processor SDK release (ti-processor-sdk-linux-omapl138-lcdk-04.01.00.06-Linux-x86-Install.bin) from:
software-dl.ti.com/.../index_FDS.html
Change permissions of the downloaded file to make it executable and start it. The Processor SDK will be installed on your Linux Ubuntu PC.
Then you should follow the instructions about how to create a SD card with pre-built images:
processors.wiki.ti.com/.../Processor_SDK_Linux_create_SD_card_script
If you wish to continue with own Linux build you should follow the instructions below:
processors.wiki.ti.com/.../Processor_SDK_Linux_Getting_Started_Guide

Thanks for your response.

I created SD card using the following step. There are 2 partition in SD card 1.boot , 2. rootfs . In the boot partition contain u-boot.bin.
i put SD card in the Development kit. It shows

** Unable to read "uImage" from mmc 0:1 **
Wrong Image Format for bootm command
ERROR: can't get kernel image!
U-Boot >

How can i get uImage and kernal image?
How can i bootup the code.?

Have you executed successfully the last Additional step for OMAPL138 after SD Card Creation described at:
processors.wiki.ti.com/.../Processor_SDK_Linux_create_SD_card_script

Hi,

yes I did the following steps,

$ cd <SDK INSTALL DIR>/board-support/prebuilt-images
$ sudo dd if=u-boot-omapl138-lcdk.ais of=/dev/sdb seek=117 bs=512 conv=fsync

my disk partition is,

allwyn@allwyn:~$ lsblk
NAME MAJ:MIN RM SIZE RO TYPE MOUNTPOINT
sda 8:0 0 232.9G 0 disk
├─sda1 8:1 0 1K 0 part
├─sda2 8:2 0 137.9G 0 part /
