Hello Together,

Is there a window tool available to convert common bitmap formats (like png) to c-code and where can I find it.

It would be good, if such a tool could also handle transparency.

I just searched for it inside the VSDK-documentation and using google and this forum but I did not have any luck :-(

Hello,

By C code, do you mean C array?
If yes you can use ffmpeg to convert jpeg/png files to C header file containing yuv420 sp data.

Hello,

Thx for your quick answer. I downloaded ffmpeg and had a look to the many, many parameters and I asked google again. But unfurtenately I did not see any way to tell the tool make a c array as output-file.

I used

ffmpeg -i logo.png -pix_fmt yuv420p out.yuv

That worked for the conversion itself but I could not get a c-array.

Could you tell me please the correct parameters?

Hello,

Here are sample commands to convert jpeg to yuv420sp. Sorry i missed to mention few other tools like 420p to nv12 and bin2c.
I will check internally how these binaries are obtained and shared with you.

ffmpeg -pix_fmt yuv420p -i SAMPLE_PNG.png SAMPLE_PNG.yuv
420p_to_nv12.exe -d p2n -w 228 -h 432 -i SAMPLE_PNG.yuv -oSAMPLE_PNG_sp.yuv
bin2c.exe SAMPLE_PNG_sp.yuv > SAMPLE_PNG_sp.h

Ok, I could find bin2c.exe inside the apps/tools-folder but I did not find 420p_to_nv12.exe or something similar looking.
So I hope, that you will find a way, where (or how) we can get it.

convert image.png image.rgb
image_convert -i image.rgb rgb888i 220 75 220 -o image.rgb565 rgb565 220
bin2c image.rgb565 > image_white.h

Thanks a lot, the tools are working well. We should add here for the others who read this thread, that the numerical parameters "220 75 220" of image_convert have to be adjusted to the geometry of the image, that it works well. In the given example the "220" is the image width in pixels and the "75" is the height in pixels. The third parameter is the line offset, which is usually but not always the same like the width.
