AM3352: External Ethernet switch selection

Part Number: AM3352

We are prototyping a design where we will use our customised AM3352 board, one of the onboard MAC will be connected to a PHY and another MAC will be connected to an external ethernet switch.

System overview-

a. One MAC connected to onboard SMSC LAN8710 PHY wired over RMII1.

b. The other MAC is planned to be wired to an external ethernet switch to provide with two ethernet ports.

We evaluated KSZ8863 (configured as a MAC) wired over RMII2 to be used as a switch but as per TI its not supported case. The discussion link is here -> e2e.ti.com/.../649924

So we have decided to drop KSZ8863.

Can you suggest the suitable alternatives ?

One of the candidates is LAN9354, http://ww1.microchip.com/downloads/en/DeviceDoc/00001926B.pdf
