Hi all,

I want to run Android M (from Processor SDK - DRA7) on dual A15 cores and sys/bios based camera and display usecases using M4 + DSP + host of other cores.

I understand that Android uses omapdrm for driving the dss and vision SDK uses IPC for configuring the DSS through links and chain.

How can I share the display between Android(on A15) and vision sdk - bios (on M4)

Please provide your inputs.

Hi Prabhuraj,

I think that you can use Robust RVC - it has mechanisms for sharing the DSS between IPU and HLOS running on A15. You can check the link at the bottom of this post:
e2e.ti.com/.../2324209

I have also pinged Robust RVC expert for further details.

I tried to download Robust RVC from processors.wiki.ti.com/.../Processor_SDK_Android_Automotive
Looks like permission is needed from TI.

Hi Prabhuraj,
As Yordan had responded with the other thread link, the display pipelines are shared between M4 and MPU. There is a diagram on "DSS Display Pipe Sharing between MPU & IPU". Basically Vision SDK (M4) will use the VID2 and VID3 pipeline while Android (MPU) will use VID1 and GFX pipeline.
For display sharing to work, Vision SDK "starterware" will enable and handling the specific DSS bits. When Android kernel is coming up, the DSS driver will need to enable and handling the other specific DSS bits.

If you interested in Robust RVC Add On SDK package on top of 6AM.1.3, then you might want to contact TI local support for getting the access through MySecureSW: www.ti.com/.../autopagepreview.tsp (latest: Robust RVC 4.0)
The Robust RVC Add On SDK package is still under NDA.
