I have a question DM6437 VENC Maximum Resolution( is it possible 1600x1200 video out NTSC? )

I'd like to make video out NTSC by video encoder..

Is it possible or not?

It it's possible what parameter should I set it...

I tried CMOS Sensor video preview.

I succeed 720x480 resolution but when I tried 1600x1200 the image was not on screen.

  • The term NTSC implies that your resolution is 720x480, as NTSC is a television standard that requires this resolution. The on board DACs are not capible of such high resolutions, they really only support TV standard resolutions such as NTSC/PAL. To provide a higher resolution output like 1600x1200 you would have to use an external video DAC or HDMI/DVI serializer, though keep in mind that even the DM6437 digital video output is limited to a 75MHz clock so you would have to have a relatively low frame rate at such a high resolution. I assume you are trying to interface with some sort of PC monitor?

  • I could not decide what interface I will use...

Just my customer want high resolution interface solution...

He said that he saw high resolution NTSC video out camera......

and I tired apply HDMI/DVI interface...but Chip vendor said that could not give us DVI chip because of we don't have HDCP license...

is there any chip we can apply without HDCP license and in easy....( Could tell me chip part number?)

and Is it possible high resolution 1600x1200 by network using DM6437_DEMO example?

    thanks for your answering.
