There is overhead involved in dispatching compute to the DSP. If the amount of compute in the offloaded region is small, the user can notice a slowdown. The ‘null’ OpenMPAcc example that ships on the target file system (/usr/share/ti/examples/openmpacc/) can be run to determine the overhead involved in dispatching a target region.
