Linux/DRA756: ECC EMIF setup with PSDKLA 3.04.00.03

Part Number: DRA756
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: DRA77P

Tool/software: Linux

Hi,

we are using PSDKLA 3.04.00.03 on a custom board with following EMIF setup:

2GB DDR3L RAM, of which 1GB connected to EMIF1 with additional chip for ECC and 1GB to EMIF2.

I saw that ECC support has been introduced in u-boot 2017.01 branch ( commit at omapzoom.org/ ) but hasnn't been merged in current PSDKLA u-boot.

Questions:

- how can we enable ECC on current PSDKLA? Is sufficient to backport ECC patches on 2017.01 u-boot branch?

- since we only need a part of ECC-protected memory, I would adopt the following LISA setup:

  + 512MB non-interleaved memory on EMIF1, ECC-protected
  + 1GB interleaved memory (EMIF1 + EMIF2)
  + last 512MB non-interleaved memory on EMIF2

Is this possible / make some sense? Can you suggest a suitable LISA mapping?

Thank you

Regards,

Francesco
