Hi,

I am running the PRU-ICSS-EtherCAT_Slave-01.00.05.00_SDK/examples/ethercat_slave on AM3359 ICE from CCS.

Also, I am using an open source EtherCAT master SOEM (Simple Open EtherCAT Master) from my linux PC.

1. The slave doesn't switch to operational state (OP). It remains in SAFE_OP. Is there any configuration to be done while setting the master?

2. We were able to communicate with slave using TwinCAT 3 as master. We are lookingto set up a master running on our Linux machine which communicates with ../sdk/examples/ethercat_slave. Does the example application support any masters other than TwinCAT?

Hi Dijo, I personally haven't tried SOEM EtherCAT mater, but I know other people have successfully connected our sitara devices as EtherCAT slave with SOEM masters. From my experience with acontis EtherCAT master, one common mistake is to forget to change master's ENI file (as a reference you can check Acontis EC-Master TI Design Appendix B) to reflect the correct slave network configuration. I am not sure if SOEM uses a similar way to know its network slave configuration, but anyhow, just because it is a common mistake I wanted to pointed out, in case it helps.
