TMS320F206: Customer needs to program a TMS320F206

The customer has a new program prepared for a TMS320F206 and would like to program the device. Searching through the range of TI products I have found that the device is supported in CCS4.1.2 and I am trying to confirm that the customer will be able to use the TMDSEMU200-U with this version of CCS to program the device through JTAG. It's a somewhat older device and so I am not sure that this should work. Anyone have any recent experience with this?

Is there a better solution?

    This device is not recommended for new design, it was EOL'd a while back and I believe even the life time buy timelines are over. 

    FWIW I will see if any one on the emulation team knows if the newer emulator will work - I am pretty sure that they would not have been explicitly tested. 

    I believe you are correct that CCSv4.1x may support this and potentially an older emulator like 

    should work (even though it does not explicitly list it as the device was EOL'd). 

    I will update the post if I hear anything from emulation team, otherwise unfortunately the guidance from us will be very limited here.

    You may also want to reach out to Spectrum Digital in case they have some additional guidance

    they used to have boards to support this device.

    If so I provided them with access to the appropriate version of Code Composer and provided debug probe suggestions.

    I will mark this thread as TI thinks it resolved. If there are additional questions on CCS and emulation, they can be posted in CCS forum.

    On the specific query for the xds200, the response from emulation team was

    F206 is a JTAG-based device that is supported by the older XDS510 Technology (ISA and PP are the most likely candidates). No other type of debug probe can be used.

    Do note that we do not recommend this device for new design. There will be no device support offered for questions on the device workings, schematics, software etc.
