HI,

I am terminating the AIF2 interface to SFP+ in my design. The SFP module planned to be used is Finisar's FTLF1426P2BTL which is compatible with CPRI Rev 4.1. I will be running the AIF2 at 4.915Gps.

Has any platform validated the AIF2 interface of this SOC with optical SFP+ modules? Can any reference be provided for the same.

Hi Shiladitya,

The 6638K2K AIF2 interface is electrically compatible with the CPRI electrical standard which are based on the CEI-6G-LR at the 4.9125Gbps lane-rate. See the Keystone II AIF2 User Guide: www.ti.com/.../spruhl2b.pdf

Many SFP and SFP+ interfaces are electrically compatible with CEI-6G-LR. For an exact electrical standard, please reference the CEI-6G-LR specification: http://www.oiforum.com/documents/implementation-agreements/

There is a breakout card from Mistral that actually routes 4 of the AIF2 lanes to an SFP+ card-cage for interoperability testing:
