TDA3XEVM: DSS Baremetal example

We use Spectrum Digital Starter Kit 15x15 TDA3x ES1.0 GP (EVMTDA3G-01-40-00 01NOV16 703754-1101 REV A).
Software we work at: CCS7, PROCESSOR_SDK_VISION_03_00_00_00, starterware_01_06_00_16.
At first I would like to make system part of software, based upon 2 Cortex-M4 IPUs.

I executed PDA examples compilation in windows by gmake.

option was: baremetal, ipu1_0, SOC_TDA3XX

I load executable, see proper messages in console, 3600 frames ends......but I don't see anything in HDMI TV screen.

I attached program.

Can anybody check why this don't work?

Hi Alexander,

This application will give display output on LCD.
Can you connect LCD to the EVM and try.

Don't have LCD. Really only LCD? Which one for HDMI Sil9022 ??????

Hi Alexander,

DSS bare metal app is not written in a generic way to run on multiple displays.
It works on 7 inch LCD that comes with the EVM.
In case you want to get HDMI output I would suggest you to run other DSS Driver example vps_examples_displayDss.
This will work for both Sil and ADV. You need to choose menu option at run time.

OK.....but how to quick convert this project to CCS7 project file set??? It spends huge amount of time :(( ......and work never ends.........is there proper quick way to make it. I really need and feel sorrow.

In Freescale Kinetis Design Studio work was simple - get example and use. Choose driver and use.

Hi Alexander,

Converting this project to CCS project file set is not a very straight forward job as the build is makefile based and there are multiple libraries/components involved.
If you are looking for a better debug experience, you really do not need to use CCS project. You can use CCS to debug even after you build the executables via GNU make system (part of build infrastructure)
