Linux/AM5718: USB ID configuration

Hi expert,

I see in the AM5718 IDK EVM, USB1 is configured as Host, but we do not see where to config the ID(GPIOn) as pull-down, I have checked the dts and there is no configuration of USB1 GPIOn.

BTY, I also see the net of VUSB_VBUS1 but not been connected to PMIC, is it OK for USB1 working in the HOST mode?

Jian,

Unlike AM335x MUSB, the USB in host mode (dr_mode="host" in DTS) in AM57x doesn't require to connect the ID pin and VBUS line.

That is right, no need to configure the GPIO, unless you use the pin for other purpose.

Which GPIO (AM5718 pin NO) is assigned for the USB 2.0 ID? Is there any description about it?

As we do not have the AM5718 IDK EVM, and the USB1 as USB 2.0 Host has been verified?

I am not sure I understand your question. For USB in host-only mode on AM57x, it is not required to assign an GPIO for ID pin detection, since there is no ID signal from the type-A receptacle, so the AM571x IDK EVM doesn't use any GPIO for ID detection for USB1 port.

Thanks Bin, I will spend time to study it , it has difference with AM335x.
