Linux/AM5728: eMMC boot display issue

Tool/software: Linux

The system on the SD card displays normal.

But when we burn the system to eMMC, then boot from eMMC, the screen displayed Please wait... all the time.

Then executed the following instructions:

/etc/init.d/weston restart

/etc/init.d/matrix-gui-2.0 start

It can be displayed normally.

The version of SDK we used is 03.01.00.06

    For some reason SystemD doesn't start weson while booting from eMMC. Can you attach the complete bootlog too see why?

  • The eMMC loads the files too fast compared to the SD card then if there is a /etc/udev/rules.d/ws-calibrate.rules (will be there if the touch screen has already calibrated before) the /etc/init.d/weston script hits exit 0 and this kills the running openvt -c 4 -f runWeston. If this command is executed in 2 seconds later stage the exit 0 will not kill the openvt -c 4 -f runWeston. To tune this up if you add sleep 2 to /etc/init.d/weston in line 42 before first openvt -c 4 -f runWeston this will keep the openvt -c 4 -f runWeston running and the display will function normally.
