AM5728: GP EVM gerber file

Hi Expert,

My customer is referring to AM5728 GP EVM for their design, and there is only PCB .brd file included in ti AM5728 GP EVM product folder web, as customer can not use Cadence due to company policy reason so they can not not use .brd file.

They asked for GP EVM .gerber file, do we have such file provided to customer? I see.gerber file included in AM5728 IDK EVM web, but there is no one in AM5728 GP EVM web.

I'm working to find out why the gerber files are not on the web. I will update you when I get an answer.

Hi Bill,
Besides I have asked Thomas for the gerber files, can you also send us the odb++ file of the AM5728 GP EVM? We need this PCB file , so that we can start our board design ASAP, thanks.

Hi,
For this particular design, there were some changes made by the PCB manufacturer at the time of the board fabrication. Due to this we don't have the most recent files and we choose not to load the gerber files onto TI.com. I will check on the possibility of exporting the PCB file to ODB++.

Thanks for your follow up, if gerber file is not available, please help to get ODB++ file, we do need this file to review on the EVM PCB first, so as to figure out where our product will start from, thanks.

Hi Bill,

I saw there is backdrill requirement in FAB NOTES bulletin 9:

For backdrill info. see gerber file(BACKDRILL_12-4.ART)

Is it possible to get this gerber file? They are critical for HDMI and USB high speed differential lines. We want to see what's the specific requirement on those backdrills.

Hi,
In researching your question I noticed that there were some files missing from the ODB++ zip. That has been corrected. The information on the backdrill can now be accessed using the ODB++ files. Open it in your viewer and select the ti_am572x_pm_reva3_backdrill_12-4 layer to see the backdrill table and locations.
