AM5718: Slowing down A15 when running DSP at max speed

Hello everybody ,

please I need to run DSP at max speed , while A15 is very low charged ( ideally I can go < 10% usage ) .

So I would like , keeping DSP at max speed , to use on A15 at "slow clock " to save power : do you see any limitation in doing this , like a min ratio between the two or something similar ?

I have linux on A15 and Tirtos on DSP

Hi Carlo,

I will have a deeper look into your question. Meanwhile check AM571x datasheet, check if there are OPP combination requirements.

Carlo,

I have check AM571x documentation and I do not find any limitation to run DSP C66x at max speed (OPP_HIGH, 750MHz) and Cortex-A15 at low speed (OPP_NOM, <1000MHz).

Also the AM571x PET (link below) allows to configure DSP at OPP_HIGH and Cortex-A15 MPU at OPP_NOM.
