AMIC110: EtherCAT migration from ET1100

Hi Sir

we would like to do migration from ET1100 to AMIC110 and there are some questions as below

1. Does TI have any design change note to do replacement form ET1100 to AMIC110?

2, Does AMIC100 need 6 control pins as below to connect to host?

3. if we need SPI function, can we replace U14 IC to 6 channel level shifter 3.3v to 5v ? or there are any notices?

Yimin,

1. Please refer to the section - processors.wiki.ti.com/.../PRU_ICSS_EtherCAT for replacement from ET1100 to AMIC110.

2. Yes, you can also refer to the system block diagram of TIDA-00299 (www.ti.com/lit/ug/tidud02/tidud02.pdf ) for the SPI and ECAT&SYS signals.

3. It seems the U14 is from AMIC110 ICE schematic. The AMIC110 ICE does provide SPI function, any reason you need to replace the U14 IC?

for Q3.

SPI interface is connected with C2000 and AMIC110 acts as ET1100 in DDRless mode.

Yimin,

The AMIC110 can connect with the C2000 Delfino MCUs F28379D LaunchPad Development Kit ( www.ti.com/.../launchxl-f28379d ) through I/O connectors without replacing the U14. See the EtherCAT on C2000 + AMIC110 DDR-less wiki - processors.wiki.ti.com/.../EtherCAT_DDRless_on_AMIC110_C2000

Hi Sir

to my understandung, C2000 is connected with AMIC110 throgh SPI1 inteface via I/O connector (need go through U14/U15)

please correct me if i am wrong

Your understanding is correct. Below is the SPI signals on connectors:

As the signals are already available on the connectors, any particular reason you need replace U14?
