AM3356: XIP boot question

Hi,

Let me talk about XIP Boot of AM335x.

My customer want to boot of SYSBOOT[4:0] = 01100.

It means AM335x start boot of USB0 → NAND → XIP → NANDI2C.

and Section 26.1.8.4.2 of TRM mention that "The address bus is released since a NAND device does not use it.".

I could not underestand this.
My customer does not need NAND boot.
In this case, Are Address pins output ?
I think They are not output.

Is this understanding is correct??

Hi,

What you read in section 26.1.8.4.2 is true for NAND boot, however you have XIP boot next in the sequence, so the address pins will be initialized for it.

I'm sorry. I do not understand.

I think AM335x access to NAND before XIP boot.
In this case, address pins are not output when this timing.
This understanding is correct??

Yes, it will not output GPMC addresses while trying to access NAND.
