Hallo,
I am new to forum. Maybe my question is not relevant to this forum, but any help will be appreciated.
I wanna ask is there any driver and software development support in DMVA2 reference design IP camera. If yes, for which operating systems?
Thanks

Hi,
DMVA2 IP camera reference design comes with linux kernel and device drivers. You can refer to DMVA2 IP Camera details on www.ti.com/ipcamera

Hi Anshuman!
you mean it runs full fledge linux operating system? Do you know anything about the software development in this camera? Also please tell me if it has windows support or not.
Thanks
Hi,
Yes, it runs montavista Pro 5.0 linux for DM36x, DMVAx. What kind of windows support are you looking for?

Hi,
Thanks for your reply. I wanna use it on ubunut and windows xp for image processing software development using C, CUDA C etc. Can you tell me if this (DMVA2) has support for all these?
Thanks
Hi Umair,
Not sure if i understood your question correctly. DMVA2 is a platform (SoC) that comes with an embedded linux operating system running on it. It has the video analytics algorithm that again run on dedicated hardware on this device. If you want to develop your own image processing and run it on DMVA2, you can write your algorithms in C and then cross compile it using GCC toolchain for ARM9 of DMVA2 and then link it to DMVA2 application.

Thanks Anshuman. I am pretty clear now. Actually I wanna do image processing using CUDA with NVIDIA GPU. Do you think it is possible to integrate this camera with a computing platform using NVIDIA ION GPU so that I can write C applications in the camera that can run on the GPU.
Hi Anshuman,
Can I add customized image processing to run on the hardware vision co-processor of DMVA2?
How about the performance if I run customized image processing on ARM9 of DMVA2? I'm worried about the computational ability of ARM9 of DMVA2 to run video analysis algorithm.
Best Regards.

Hi,
What kind of algorithm are you planning to run? What do you need from the hardware coprocessors? Based on the algorithm, we can tell you what can be possible. BTW, lot of DMVA details are part of NDA and cannot be discussed on external forums. Please contact your local FAE or sales to get in touch with us.

Hi Anshuman,
Thanks for your quick reply!
Basically I want to implement some real-time road tracing algorithm. What hardware/Soc is suitable for this situation?
BRs.
