RTOS/AM5728: PCIe MSI maximum rate

Hi,

TI, I am using the PCIE_idkAM572x_wSoCFile_C66BiosExampleProject rtos demo,Now I can get the msi from FPGA..

But when I increase the msi rate to 20K/s(send 20x1000 msi to am5728 a second)，no interruption was received on the am5728.If the msi rate decrease to 15K/s,it is ok.

Now I want to know the msi maximum response rate of PCIe. Do you have any data？

Hi,

The ISR code has many check conditions, if you know it is MSI and interrupt vector number, you can try to simplify the ISR code, then at 20K/s (50 us interval) to see if you can enter the ISR, increment a counter and clear interrupt. Or, you never enter into the ISR?

Eric,I never into the ISR,I had add the isr count on the PlatformMsiIntxIsr,found that it is always zero.

Hi,

Do you have any PCIE traffic in parallel for MSI test (like heavy data traffic over EDMA) and MSI is CPU write and EDMA has higher priority so MSI didn't get through? Or this is only MSI test?

Eric,
I do not have the data traffic on the PCIe, I only test the MSI. The dsp code wait for the MSI,and the FPGA only send the msi to PCIe bus.
Any suggestion?

Hi，

Eric， call the HwiP_create to create PlatformMsiIntxIsr before enable the FPGA MSI interrupt. It works ok when the MSI rate is 24K/s.
