I had given up on the SDK 4.01. The website says that ubuntu 14.04 is the only one supported but does have information for Centos.
On my new Ryzen computer I was not able to have ubuntu 14.04 as it crashed on a regular basis so I upgraded it to 16.04
My home computer has 3 hard disks of 4TB each, 32GB of RAM and 16 processors.
I have the following systems installed :
1-Open SuSE 42.3
2-Fedora 26
3-Archlinux
4-Ubuntu 16.04
5-Funtoo
6-Centos 7.3
Beagleboard X15 (evm machine)
At first I was not able to create the SDK on any of the operating systems installed. There were different errors on each.
I was successfull when i started yocto on funtoo, did some on ubuntu and finished on funtoo.
Funtoo is where I had the least number of issues but not enough to have a
On funtoo it would not recognize libc as valid when trying to compile eventdump
For zbar it had a problem with libjpeg which is the latest turbo version. I think that ubuntu 14.04 may be one of the last ones that uses the old libjpeg that we are informed not to used. It is blocked from compiling on gentoo and funtoo as obsolete.
Removing those from the recipes was the only way to get the system to compile.
mariadb-native would not compile on funtoo but did on ubuntu. I am wondering why it tries to impose a native mariadb, it should use the one on the system.
I tried removing the mariadb-native but mariadb would not compile, Once I had mariadb-native compiled on ubuntu mariadb did compile.
I had no issue when building the SDK for the beaglebone black
