Linux/AM5728: Qt 5.8 question

Tool/software: Linux

1. Our Objective is to use maps from local storage(i.e. offline maps)
2. I am now exploring with OSM  Maps on AM5728 processor
3. distribution provides Linux with QT 5.7.1 for AM5728.
4. QT 5.7.1 Version does not support offline OSM maps
5. It is understood that QT 5.8 supports OSM Maps in both offline & online Mode. 
6. So, We have Integrated QT 5.8 into distribution.
7. After Integration of QT 5.8, offline OSM Maps are working, provided that target board has to be connected to internet. Online GIS Maps are yet to be tried  out.

Are  there  any bugs in qt 5.8 stating target has to be connected to internet even for offline storage also? please  suggest any possible solution for this.
