TDA3MA: Can safety function be implemented on TDA3MA?

Dear TDA3MA team members

Hi~

There are no ARM Cortex-R cores in TDA3MA.

Can safety function be implemented by ARM Cortex-M4 cores of TDA3MA as TMS570L series products(Hercules) done?

Yes, TDA3x has many safety features and can be used to implement safety functions. It has been certified as an ASIL B device. Choice of R5F core or M3 does not really impact the safety function implementation. One point to note is that Hercules has lockstep R5F and M3 of TDA3x does not have HW lockstep, though one can do SW lockstep. I would suggest you to go over TDA3x safety manual to get to know all the safety features what is supported by this device.
