Linux/IPNC-RDK-CSK: DM38x Timer and PWM functionality

I am trying to get PWM output on the TIMX_IO pins, but there doesn't seem to be a PWM driver in the IPNC RDK. In addition it looks like only timer1 and timer2 are defined in the ti81xx.dtsi, which is referenced in the dm38x-csk.dts file. Is this observation incorrect, or should I be able to add a pwm such that it shows up in /sys/class/pwm and controlled as described here: processors.wiki.ti.com/.../Linux_Core_PWM_User's_Guide

You are correct. PWM is not supported in the IPNC RDK. This support must be added.

I was afraid of that. Is there a recommended way of adding this functionality? I tried to add the remaining timers (3 through 8) and backport the omap-dmtimer-pwm driver. The kernel module loads but I still don't see any devices in /sys/class/pwm.
