AM4377: EEPROM programming

Hi,

We have created a custom board based on AM4377 IDK.

Currently, we are using the default TI Board information (REF: AM437x IDK HW Manual, ID information) for the board bring up using the UBOOT for AM437x IDK.

However, since this is a custom board, should we use our own Board ID information or can we still use the TI board information?

Hi Rohit,

You are free to add your Board ID description. You can do this by adding description for your board as it is done for "AM43_IDK" for example in
../u-boot/include/configs/am43xx_evm.h
and
../u-boot/ti/am43xx/board.h

Thanks Tsvetolin for a quick response.
Before I mark this resolved, just wanted to check, if we add our board information, should we have to publish this to the UBOOT community?

Rohit,

U-Boot is under GPL-2.0+ license. Here is more details:
github.com/.../COPYING
You can publish your patches to the U-Boot community but it is not mandatory according to me. If you are selling your board you should make public your source code. One opportunity is U-Boot community but an other one is to publish it on your web site.
