Linux/AM3352: NAND timings

Hi,

We are using a custom board based on AM3352. In NAND(Micron MT29F4G08ABADAH4)interface, our customer want to configure the NAND timing mode to 5. I think by default it is configured to timing mode 0.

1) In which place I need to configure the NAND timing mode in kernel.

2) Is timing mode can be configured through dts.?

I'm using processor-sdk-04.01.00.06 version

What exactly do you mean by mode 5 and mode 0?

HI Biser,

As per NAND datasheet choose higher timing mode will speed up receive command , access and data cycles.

Hi Manoj,

Here is an example for a patch changing NAND timing:
lists.denx.de/.../215582.html
The patch is no directly applicable for your NAND chip. You should change the values.

Hi Shulev,

Thanks for your reply. Since patch was applied only in u-boot, will the timing get changed during kernel boot...? Or configuring timing in u-boot alone is enough...?

Hi Shulev,

I'm able to configure nand timing in both u-boot and kernel(Calculated gpmc nand timing value and added in dts ). After change it is able to detect the NAND interface. Also I verified the timing value update using CONFIG_OMAP_GPMC_DEBUG.

1) Now my doubt is whether timing mode feature is updated inside the NAND chip or not..? (setting NAND chip into timing mode 5)
