AM5718: Raw video stream input to DSP

Part Number: AM5718

i have an 8 bit compressed digital video broadcast stream accompanied by 2 control bits, synchronous to a 27MHz pixel clock.

How can i store this data to DSP memory for decoding?

1. Can I use the Video Input Port ?

(i checked Chapter 9 of the technical manual but it seems raw un-formatted video input is not supported. i.e. since the video is compressed, there are no framing signals associated with it.)

2. Ignoring the fact that this is compressed video data, what other method could be used for just storing a data-stream in memory?

any feedback will be appreciated.
